Job Description
The Assistant Vice President of Finance-Revenue is responsible for development, direction and maintenance of billing and reimbursement services for all Compass Health operations, as well as provides ongoing support and resources for revenue generating departments in regard to client accounting and fiscal issues. Regular travel to Clinton, Columbia, & St. Peters.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - JOB SPECIFIC
- Oversee accounts receivable department and maximize the collection of payments and reimbursements from third party payers
- Supervises, trains, develops and evaluates performance over assigned personnel
- Maintains accounts receivable balances in accordance to industry standards
- Leads quality improvement efforts in conjunction with directors of revenue, compliance, clinical, financial and quality departments
- Monitors governmental and third-party reimbursement regulation changes and works with the Sr. Director of Revenue-Operations to ensure organizational compliance with payer regulations to enable the organization to prepare for reimbursement changes and to optimize payments as appropriate
- Provides reimbursement counsel to Compass Health managers that may, through their department operations, influence or affect reimbursements
- Works with the VP of Finance, Revenue to proactively evaluate strategies and processes to optimize, as appropriate, reimbursement from governmental and third-party payers
- Leads and participates in various financial analysis projects for sound financial management Represents the revenue department at meetings and events with outside organizations
- Exemplifies excellent customer service relations with clients, visitors, clinicians and co-workers
- Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY - Oversees day-to-day operations and tasks of supervisees
- Completes performance development/AIM process
- Time card management - manages time sheets
- Ensures progress and development is made toward departmental strategic plan goals
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in business, health or public administration, management or related field required
WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS - At least five years management experience required
- Extensive knowledge of Word and spreadsheet (i.e. Excel) or word processing computer programs preferred
- Strong understanding of billing and credit collection procedures in inpatient, outpatient, FQHC and residential settings preferred
