Juvenile Intensive Supervision Officer
The JISO will conduct Intensive Supervision of juvenile offenders assigned to the program. Ensures that all minimum standards/requirements are carried out with each offender assigned to JISP. Assists each offender in improving their level of functioning within the community through education, employment, counseling, etc. JISO is responsible for the success of each offender assigned to their caseload.
CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: *Graduation from high school or equivalency is required. *A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in the various behavioral health fields is preferred. *Completion of 60 semester/college hours and two years’ experience in corrections or human services in lieu of, or in addition to, education may be considered.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: *Must be able to communicate effectively in oral and written situations. *Must possess a valid driver’s license.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *Supervises offenders assigned to the program. *Conducts thorough intake of all offenders upon admission to the program. *Assess offender needs and makes appropriate referrals to community resources. *Develop offender supervision/treatment plans for each offender. *Supervises/monitors offenders’ participation and progress through a four level supervision program. *Conducts random drug and alcohol tests on all offenders. *Conducts field visits to each offender’s home, community, and place of employment or education area. *Verify offender activities (employment, education, counseling, law enforcement contacts, etc.) *Supervise all Court Orders. *Ensure completion of assigned Community Service Work. *Maintain accurate and complete offender records/case files. *Prepare required reports on offender progress. *Accurately compile program/caseload reports.
